Who we are
SEISENSE Publishing (“SEISENSE”, “we”, “us”) is an independent academic publisher of open-access research in business and management. We have offices in Battleford Rd, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and Wapda Town, Multan, Pakistan. You can reach us at editor@journal.seisense.com.
This policy explains how we handle personal information on this website, seisense.com. Our two journals, the SEISENSE Journal of Management (SEIJOM) and the SEISENSE Business Review (SBR), run on their own sites at journal.seisense.com. Accounts, manuscript submission, peer review and reading on those sites are covered by each journal’s own privacy statement, so please read it there.
What we collect and why
Contact form. If you write to us through the Contact page we receive your name, e-mail address, the topic you chose and your message. We use them only to answer you. The message is sent to our editorial mailbox; this website does not keep a copy in its database.
Manuscript formatting tool (“Format my manuscript”). To build your files we process the Word file you upload and the details you type: title, authors’ names, e-mail addresses, affiliations, ORCID iDs, declarations and contributions. We use them only to produce your title page and blind manuscript. The files are held briefly so you can download them (60 minutes by default) and are then deleted automatically; we do not keep copies and do not use your manuscript for any other purpose. The download links are sent to the corresponding author’s e-mail address.
Abuse prevention. To keep the tool available for everyone we count requests from an IP address and to an e-mail address for a short period.
Staff accounts. Editors and copyeditors sign in with a staff account. We keep the name, e-mail address and sign-in details needed to run the account. Actions taken in the final-stage tool are logged by kind of change only, without author names, so that changes can be accounted for.
Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies it needs to work: sign-in cookies for staff and security tokens on forms. The theme and our tools set no advertising or tracking cookies, and the site’s fonts are served from the site itself. If we add analytics later, we will say so here first.
How we use information
We use personal information to reply to you, to provide the tools you ask for, to keep the site secure and to meet legal duties. We do not sell personal information, and we do not make decisions about people by automated means.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the site (hosting and e-mail delivery) and who may use it only on our behalf, with the journal sites where you choose to submit or sign in there, and with authorities when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Files and details sent to the formatting tool are deleted automatically after the download period. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them and for our records. Staff accounts are kept while the person holds the role.
Security
We protect information with encrypted connections, access limited to authorised staff, short retention and, for the formatting tool, sealed data inside the files it produces. No online service can be completely secure, so please do not send us information you do not need to.
Where information is processed
Because we work from Canada and Pakistan and use hosting and e-mail services, information may be processed in those countries and in the countries where our providers operate. We take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is handled.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw a consent you gave. Write to editor@journal.seisense.com and we will answer within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the privacy authority in your country, for example the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is for researchers and readers and is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
